World of Opinions Center for Polls conducted a telephone interview survey with individuals who will definitely or most likely participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on September 10, 2024. The survey utilized a sample size of 1,537 questionnaires from all governorates of the Kingdom and was conducted between August 25 and September 1, 2024.
The key findings were as follows:
- A) Ranking of National (Party) Lists at the Kingdom Level:
- First Place: The Islamic Action Front list with 5.5%.
- Second Place: The El-Mithaq (Charter) Party list with 4.6%.
- Third Place: The Eradah (Will) Party list with 4.2%.
- Key Note: The largest percentage of respondents (42.5%) stated that they have not yet decided on their choice.
- B) Criteria for Voters’ Selection of Candidates:
- The service program ranked first as the most important factor for electing a candidate at 48.0%.
- The factor of prioritizing the national interest over personal interests came in second at 42.0%.
- Intellectual discourse ranked third at 27.7%, followed by the factor of the candidate being from the same tribe or region at 24.7%.
- C) Sources of Information About the Elections and Candidates:
- Social media ranked first as the most prominent source of information at 57.1%.
- Friends and acquaintances came in second at 42.7%.
- Advertisements in public spaces ranked third at 29.7%.
- D) Confidence in the Independent Election Commission’s (IEC) Procedures to Ensure the Integrity of the Process:
- The results showed great optimism, as 55.7% of respondents believe that the procedures will succeed to a large extent in ensuring integrity. Meanwhile, 28.9% believe they will succeed to a moderate extent.
