The Founder and General Director of the World of Opinions Center, an international expert in public opinion research, survey methodology, social trends analysis, humanitarian action, and civil society. He currently serves as a Visiting Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University (USA), a Senior Advisor to United Mission for Relief and Development (UMR), a representative of non-governmental organizations at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Center at Kuwait University. He is also a member of the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR), the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), and several other international scientific and professional associations.
Dr. Abu Rumman founded and oversees the World of Opinions Center in Jordan, Kuwait, and the United States, leading the implementation of dozens of national and international research projects and public opinion surveys in partnership with leading academic and research institutions, including Princeton University, the University of Chicago, Indiana University, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the World Bank. He has directed multiple waves of the Arab Barometer project in Kuwait and supervised major research initiatives, including the Public Attitudes Toward Migrant Workers in Kuwait Survey, the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), the World Values Survey (WVS), the Digital Skills to Tangible Outcomes (DiSTO) study, and several international projects focusing on public attitudes, philanthropy, and humanitarian action.
He is also a specialized trainer in public opinion research methodologies and research project management. He has designed and delivered numerous training programs and workshops for government institutions, universities, and civil society organizations across several countries, covering survey design, fieldwork management, data analysis, and the use of public opinion research to support evidence-based decision-making. His training portfolio also includes governance, humanitarian action, knowledge management, and institutional capacity development.
Dr. Abu Rumman is the author and editor of dozens of books and scholarly studies and has published hundreds of articles and research papers. He has participated as a principal researcher, keynote speaker, and session chair at more than fifty international conferences across the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Arab region. His work focuses on advancing survey methodology, measuring social change, and promoting the use of data and evidence to inform public policy and strategic decision-making.
