The General Supervisor Conducts a Workshop on Preparing Data Collection Researchers in Opinion Polls

The International Center for Research and Studies “Midad” concluded a training workshop on preparing and qualifying data collection researchers for opinion polls, sponsored by the Al-Jomaih Foundation, at the “Midad” Center headquarters in Jeddah. The workshop was attended by 30 participants and was presented by Dr. Samir Abu Rumman, General Supervisor of the World of Opinions Center and Advisor to the Opinion Polls Unit at the Midad Center.

The workshop covered several topics, including:

– The data collection phase in opinion polls: An overview.

– The importance of training researchers in data collection.

– General guidelines for researchers.

– Refusal to participate in the survey: Excuses and proposed handling methods.

– Situations researchers may face and how to deal with them.

– Increasing response and participation rates.

– Understanding the psychology of respondents and using psychological principles with them.

– Writing reports by researchers.

– Criteria for evaluating researchers.

The workshop also included practical applications for data collection, methods of review, statistical data control, error detection methods, and data collection methods using smart devices and tablets.
